It’s time to Relax
How do you wind down in the evenings? For some people, it can be quite a struggle. Everyone finds different things relaxing, after all, no one is the same in any aspect of life! It’s so important to be able to relax and wind down in the evenings. Put the day behind you and get yourself ready for a good nights sleep. If you’re not well rested, you won’t be as productive the next day! We’ve put together a wind down routine you can do to relax from drinking tea to a full on pamper session.
It’s time to relax. Enjoy!
Stay AWAY from Caffeine!
Rule number one, absolutely no caffeine. Drinking caffeinated tea or coffee can really disrupt your evening routine and sleep pattern. Find caffeine-free alternatives that actually aid your sleep. A great option is Chamomile tea or Peppermint tea. They’re both naturally free from caffeine and taste great!
Turn Treat Yourself Mode on!
You don’t have to go all out every evening however once in a while it would be nice. Remove your makeup, go for a hot bath or shower, shave, exfoliate, moisturise and pop a face mask on. Face masks are brilliant for winding down in the evening as you can just pop them on and leave them to do their thing! Choose one that’s really going to benefit your skin. So, if you suffer from redness, try a calming mask… if you’re congested, try a clay mask!
Read a self-help book!
Ok, reading of any kind could be beneficial, however, self-help books can really help you relax. Learning new techniques and bettering yourself can make you feel brilliant in the evening and have you waking up feeling positive. The great thing about them is, you can really stop anywhere. With a lot of fiction books, you find yourself constantly wanting to get to the next chapter. These self-help books can be read as slowly as you like!
Adult Colouring books!
Try colouring in the evening! It’s known to be extremely therapeutic as it’s so peaceful. You can use whatever tools you’re comfortable with and do as much or as little as you please. It’s also very rewarding when you finish as you have a beautiful piece to keep! You can get so many that you’re sure to find something you’re interested in.
Do yoga or Stretch out!
Yoga can be so beneficial for you at any time of day however, there are some great routines for the evening! Even if you didn’t want to follow a set yoga routine, you could still take a few minutes to stretch out your muscles. It helps release any tension or stress you’ve built up throughout the day. You definitely don’t want to hold on to it and bring it through to your morning! Let it go at night and when you wake up, start fresh.
However you choose to unwind, make sure it’s working for you! There’s no problem with trying a few different things and working out what’s best! You don’t even have to do more than one small thing in the evenings as a perfect bedtime routine for anxiety. Just give yourself some time on your own to just breathe and take a moment to reflect on the day.
